4. Account Deletion
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version governs to the extent permitted by mandatory local law.
Article 1. Requesting Deletion
Members may request deletion of their Saju KKINI account at any time through Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app or through Saju KKINI’s public account-deletion page. The public page explains the method without requiring login; an actual request for a specific account requires the identity verification described below.
Article 2. Identity Verification
To prevent mistakes and unauthorized deletion, the Service verifies account ownership before accepting a request through a recent authentication check, re-login, verification sent to the registered email, or another provided method. Verification is not used to unreasonably obstruct deletion.
Article 3. Seven-Day Waiting Period
After a valid request, the account enters pending-deletion status and normal use is restricted. A seven-day waiting period begins on the request date. During that period, the Member may sign in normally and explicitly choose to cancel the deletion request. Merely opening the app or signing in does not cancel it automatically. When the waiting period ends, deletion data is processed permanently and generally cannot be restored.
Article 4. Before Deleting
Before requesting deletion, Members should understand that:
- Permanently deleted accounts and personal server data generally cannot be restored.
- Supported meal records and other exportable data should be downloaded to the Member’s device before deletion.
- PDF and other files already downloaded to the device are not removed automatically by deleting the account.
- Device-only local records are separate from server account data. During deletion, the Member may choose whether to retain them on that device as guest records or delete them locally. They are not shown as normal account records during the waiting period.
- Google Play subscriptions must be managed separately.
- Free remaining points expire on permanent deletion.
- Account-based features may become inaccessible even if a paid period remains.
Article 5. Premium Subscription
Deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play Premium subscription. The deletion process provides a route to Google Play subscription management and explains that the two procedures are separate. Members should cancel in Google Play first where necessary.
Article 6. Data Deleted
After the seven-day period, the Service generally deletes the Member account and identifier, email and authentication data, saju and personalization data, birth and residence data, food restrictions and allergy data, meal and lifestyle records, recommendation and personalization history, personal reports, point and benefit status, account-linked device data such as push tokens, and other account-linked usage data.
If local deletion is selected, the app deletes accessible local records for that account after final deletion. Records intentionally retained on the device become guest-local records and are not automatically uploaded to server data or report analysis.
Article 7. Legally Retained Data and Deletion Audit
Contract, withdrawal, payment, refund, complaint, and dispute records required by law are separated from personalization data and retained only for the legal purpose and period, then deleted. To confirm deletion and handle related errors or disputes, the Service separately retains a minimal deletion audit record—such as the request identifier, a one-way hash of the user identifier, request date, and final deletion date—for three years after final deletion. It is not used to restore the account or provide personalization.
Article 8. Statistical Information
Statistics already aggregated before deletion so that an individual cannot reasonably be identified using other information are separate from account-level personal data and may continue to be used for service improvement, research, market analysis, product development, other business uses, or provision to third parties. Raw account-linked or re-identifiable data is not retained merely by calling it statistical information.
Article 9. Re-registration
During the waiting period, a Member may sign in and explicitly cancel the request. After permanent deletion, registering again with the same email creates a new account; prior personal data, server meal records, reports, points, and other account data are not automatically restored or used in new recommendations or reports. Device-local records or downloaded files are not automatically incorporated into the new account’s server data.
Article 10. Servers and External Processors
Deletion covers account-linked data in Service-managed systems and relevant external processing. Device-only local records and user-downloaded files cannot be remotely deleted as part of server account deletion, but may be removed through the app where available. Deleted information may remain for a limited period in technical backups, where it is not used for normal service or discretionary restoration and is removed under the provider’s backup cycle.
